Dear Friends:

I spent a quiet, relaxing New Year’s at my home in St. Petersburg, Florida.  As many of you know, I am blessed to be able to watch from my studio windows the New Year’s celebrations that take place in the park across the street from my home.  They do one round of fireworks at 9:00 p.m. for the children and then another round at midnight for the adults.  It’s been a delightful holiday season for me, spending time with family and going to church with friends.  Now, I’m happy to be back at work in St. Pete.

There’s a new Egyptian Exhibit at the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts, and there’s a new director at The Chihuly Collection.  The new Salvador Dali Museum opened a year ago.  All three are really wonderful, and St. Pete is a haven of museums and galleries.  There’s lots to see and do!

I’m looking forward to P. Buckley Moss Galleries, Ltd.’s Dealers’ Meeting that will be held at my house February 10-12 and also to getting together with past members of the P. Buckley Moss Society Board of Directors around the same time.  It’s going to be such fun catching up with everyone.

I’m also looking forward to our group land tour and seven-day cruise along the Alaskan Coast this year.  Fifty-five people have signed up so far!  The land tour portion runs immediately prior to the cruise, July 26-29, departing downtown Anchorage, where we’ll board the McKinley Explorer train to Denali National Park, where we’ll take the Tundra Wilderness Tour.  On July 29, we will return to Seward in time to board ship for the cruise.  The ship Zaandam, of the Holland America Line, will set sail from Seward (Anchorage) on July 29, 2012, visiting Glacier Bay, Haines, Juneau, and Ketchikan before passing through the Inside Passage to Vancouver, British Columbia, in Canada on August 5.  An optional post-cruise excursion to Butchart Gardens in Victoria, Canada, is also available.  The Gardens are on Victoria Island outside Vancouver, and this will be a day-trip involving taking a ferry boat over to the Island.

Space is still available for this exciting opportunity.  If you’re interested in joining us, and to obtain current rates, please contact Ada at Stacy’s Travel, 12 E. We’ve received joyous messages this year and sad ones.  I lost another of my dear friends, someone very special to me, here in St. Petersburg over the weekend.  Jackie Peterson passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.  I so much enjoyed her company and her friendship, as well as her friends, and I will miss her.

This picture was taken last summer, and I believe it was my last outing with Jackie.  We went to lunch at The Vinoy with a couple friends.  Standing, L. to R.:  me, Judy Haverty, and Joni Lefter.  Jackie Peterson is seated.

Love,
Pat
