Dear Friends:

What fun I had with Mike and Lisa Anne Milhorn of Up Against the Wall Gallery and their staff and friends this past weekend! I saw many old friends and made many new ones.

Covered in Moss: Moments before the show begins at Up Against the Wall, Kingsport, TN. Pat's prints line the walls and tables.

One family I met was particularly special. Gordon and Jill Hippe brought their daughters Kirstyn and Kendyl to meet me. What makes them so special is that Kendyl is a “bumblebee!” Scientists have studied the flight of the bumblebee and have determined that bumblebees should not have the ability to fly. Their body size and weight are much too large for their wingspan. Therefore, it is a miracle that bumblebees take flight. Kendyl and her twin sister Kennedy were born 17 weeks premature, at just 23 weeks of gestation. Babies born before 24 weeks of gestation are not expected to survive, but Kendyl proved that miracles are possible—just like the bumblebee.

Today she is a healthy, perfectly normal toddler and has suffered no birth defects as a result of her premature delivery. Unfortunately, her sister Kennedy passed away at just five days old. The family is very close, and Kendyl’s older sister Kirstyn just adores her!

When Pat was asked to create a painting of a bumblebee and a baby, she just had to know the whole story. Pat was delighted to meet Gordon and Jill Hippe and their daughters Kirstyn and ‘Bumblebee’ Kendyl at the show.

This coming weekend I’ll be visiting two galleries in West Virginia, Kitten’s Korner in White Sulphur Springs on Saturday and Necessary Things on Sunday (call Necessary Things at 304-752-0542 for show location), and the following weekend, April 22-24, I’ll be in Waynesboro for my Barn Show.

Silver Lake in Spring is Pat's new print edition for release at the Barn Show, April 22-24.

Those of you who are members of the P. Buckley Moss Society should have received your most recent issue of The Sentinel newsletter by now. Please notice the back cover of this issue. It contains your redemption certificate for a special Members-Only Giclée titled The Walkway. The Walkway features my Museum and its Commemorative Walkway and, like our regular annual Members-Only Prints, is available only to members of the Society. If you would like to purchase this first Members-Only Giclée, please turn in your redemption certificate to any authorized Moss dealer before July 25.

The Walkway is a giclée on paper, measuring approximately 16 x 20 ins., that is available only to members of the P. Buckley Moss Society. The edition size will be determined by the number of prints ordered by July 25th. The giclée printing process is the finest reproduction process available today and is the next best thing to owning the original.

I want to give you a brief update on Ginger Cloonan, owner of The Country Framer Gallery in Libertyville, Illinois, and dealer representative to the Society Board. As many of you know, Ginger had extensive back surgery at the beginning of February and has been working hard in physical therapy ever since. A few days ago, she took a few steps!! We are all so proud of her courage and strength and grateful for all the prayers that have been said for her!

I was delighted this past weekend at Up Against the Wall’s show to see how well received the special prints I had created for Ginger were. Love’s Special Time features a scene from Long Grove, which is not far from Ginger’s gallery, and My Daughters features Ginger’s grandchildren.
