Dear Friends:

Alaska was beautiful, and life was good with my daughter Mary and grandson Sean.  It was also a joy to be with so many friends and to have that wonderful experience together.  In spite of leaving blessedly cool temperatures behind for Virginia’s heat and humidity, I am happy to be home.

Upon returning, I received the sad news that my dear friend and long-time dealer John Byers had passed away on July 19.  John had been the owner of Prince Royal Gallery in Alexandria, Virginia, for twenty years before retiring several years ago.  Prince Royal was his third career, following a distinguished 31-year military career and management of the Arlington offices of Data-Design Laboratories.  John also served on numerous boards and commissions in his community.  He was a perfect gentleman, and he will be greatly missed.

This Thursday I’m giving a talk and unveiling a new print at Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, Virginia.  My talk will start at 2:00 p.m., followed by the unveiling of my new print edition to help raise funds for Sunnyside.  The prints will be available for sale, and I will be happy to sign them.

From Humble Beginnings to a Century of Caring celebrates Sunnyside Retirement Community’s 100th Anniversary this year.  For more information, please call 540-568-8411.

I am also looking forward to seeing some of my authorized dealers this weekend.  I’m hosting our annual Dealers’ Meeting in Waynesboro, and our Saturday night dinner will be held at my Barn home.  I’ll be at the Barn and the Museum the whole weekend.  Corrado Gabellieri, Director of the P. Buckley Moss Museum, will be our Italian chef—hurray!  My dealers are such special people in my life, and our Dealers’ Meetings are a great way to stay connected and exchange ideas.

We are going to be in for a treat at our Dealers’ Meeting this weekend—Corrado makes pasta from scratch, just like his mother used to make!

Love,
Pat

P.S.  Congratulations to my “cowboy friend” Frank Addington, Jr., and his wife Amanda on the arrival of their second son Lucas Franklin!  Lucas was born on June 18; weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces; and was 21 inches long. Welcome, Lucas!  Lucas' big brother Gus will celebrate his 6th birthday on August 21--happy birthday, Gus!
