Dear Friends:
Seasons greetings from Waynesboro, Virginia, where I'll be signing
at the P. Buckley
Moss Museum this Friday through Sunday, December 17-19, from 1:00
to 3:00 p.m. Please note that I will be at the Museum and not The Barn.
The "Moss in Miniature" exhibit is still up at the Museum,
and everyone who has been to see it gives it rave reviews. Thank you,
everyone!
One of the highs of my visit to Kingsport, Tennessee, last week was
the time I spent at the Boys' & Girls' Club of Greater Kingsport.
The Club has a wood-working class, and the children learn to turn wooden
plates and bowls. This was my third year of painting an image onto one
of the plates or bowls, which is then auctioned in the spring. The next
fundraising dinner and auction for the Boys' & Girls' Club will
be held April 9, 2011, in Kingsport.
I very much enjoyed my visit to the Boys' & Girls' Club of Greater
Kingsport last Tuesday. Note the wooden plate I'm holding with the mouse
painted on it.
I had a busy couple of days in Kingsport, as we unveiled my new poster
and print celebrating the Bristol
Rhythm & Roots Reunion. The Reunion is a three-day music festival,
and much more, that has been held every third weekend in September,
starting in 2001, on State Street in historic downtown Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia.
Bristol is located on the Tennessee-Virginia state line, so half of
the city is in Tennessee, and the other half is in Virginia. The next
festival will be held September 16-18, 2011.
The unveiling was held at the Theatre Bristol, and we presented
both the City of Bristol, TN, and the City of Bristol, VA, with framed
posters. Standing at far left is Kathy Leninski, 2010 Bristol Rhythm
& Roots Reunion Board Chair, and standing far right is Bristol,
VA, Mayor Don Ashley.
I had TV interviews in both Johnson City and Bristol, Tennessee, Tuesday,
as well as an unveiling ceremony and reception in Bristol and my visit
to the Boys' & Girls' Club in Kingsport. On Wednesday, I was showing
with my friends at Up Against the Wall Gallery in Kingsport. It was
such fun seeing so many smiling faces and that beautiful gallery!

I was thrilled to see the members of the Entertainment Co. Quartet
of Sweet Adelines International at Up Against the Wall's show on Wednesday.
They came and sang for me at last year's show with Up Against the Wall,
and it's becoming a tradition that I look forward to. L. to R.: Dondra
Warden, Marla Edwards, me, Susie Pratt, and Lula Ray Hawthorne.
When the show ended Wednesday evening, my daughter Patty and I headed
back to Waynesboro for the night, and the very next day I was off to
the Richmond airport for my show with Gallery Art Center in Columbus,
Ohio. It was such fun being with the Borloglou-Campbell family again
and their wonderful collectors.

Lester and Mary Borloglou, Peter Vatsures, and Suzi and her family own
and operate Gallery Art Center and have been carrying my work since
January, 1981. Lester passed away a few years ago about a month after
my show with them that year. I'm so glad we got to laugh and have fun
together one last time.
Staffing the show, L. to R.: Virginia Carvour, Jackie Campbell,
Suzi Campbell, Steve Campbell, me, and Peter Vatsures.
O-H-I-O! Buckeye fans, L. to. R.: Grant Shivley, me, Julie Shivley,
and Kevin Shivley. Note my new O-H-I-O
print that I'm holding up.
It was such a pleasure meeting the Hollingsworth family, and I loved
the way they've had their 12 Days of Christmas ornaments framed.
L. to R.: David Hollingsworth, Meredith Hollingsworth, me, and Patty
Hollingsworth.
Gallery Art Center's show was my last one for this year; stay tuned
for my spring show schedule. It's time now for me to get ready for Christmas!
Love,
Pat
